Manual Therapy Rittenhouse Center City Philadelphia

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is a hands-on physical therapy approach used to reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore function. Treatment may include soft tissue work, joint mobilization, myofascial techniques, and individualized care for orthopedic pain, pelvic dysfunction, and chronic tension.

Manual therapy is a personalized, hands-on approach to physical therapy that helps improve movement, decrease pain, and address restrictions in the muscles, joints, fascia, and connective tissues. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, treatment is guided by a detailed assessment of how your body moves and where mobility, stability, or tissue restrictions may be contributing to discomfort.

Manual therapy may be helpful for neck pain, back pain, hip pain, jaw tension, headaches, postural strain, pelvic pain, and movement limitations related to orthopedic or pelvic floor dysfunction. It can also support recovery from chronic tension patterns, overuse injuries, and persistent pain that has not fully improved with exercise alone.

Sessions may include soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, joint mobilization, stretching, trigger point techniques, and other integrative treatment methods based on your needs. Manual therapy is often combined with corrective exercise, movement retraining, and whole-body physical therapy to improve mobility, reduce pain, and support long-term function.
